We’re more than happy to answer any questions you have about the stag weekend you’re planning or how we work but here are the most popular questions we get asked.

 

Can I tailor make a weekend?

Absolutely, the packages we have on our website are just there for ideas.  All our weekends can be adapted and tailored for you.  We generally know the best ways to structure a weekend so will be happy to suggest the timings for the weekend but we’re also happy to work around your timings.

Why should I use your company and not just book it all direct?

We’re here to make your stag weekend easy to organise, of a high standard and safe and secure.  We’ve been doing this for a very long time and know how these weekends can go wrong.

If it’s all about price and you want to organise it yourself to save a few pounds then we recommend you do this.  However if you want to use our expertise, and have the security of booking through and agent who know all the supplier then we suggest to book with us.  We’ll be able to give you lots of extra’s like advise on the best bars, pubs and clubs to get in to.

Can people in the group pay you direct?

Yes, we have an online payment system which allows all group members to pay us direct with a credit or debit card.  As group leader, you’ll be able to see who’s paid.  More details and questions about this system are detailed below.

What is your minimum group size?

Our minimum group size is 8 people or all our stag weekends.  You can contact us if you have 6 people. The reason there is a minimum of 8 is  because our reduced rates are based on 4 or more rooms based on 2 people sharing.

Can some people do one night and others do two?

Yes, lots of our groups do a mixture of one or two nights.

What are your office hours?

Our opening hours are from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.  You can email us at any time and we’ll get back to you.

How do I book?

Just call us on 0800 234 6265 and we will confirm the booking. You can also email us on [email protected]

When and how do I receive confirmation of my booking?

Once you have paid your deposit either over the phone or via bank transfer a booking confirmation will be sent out to you via email. On final payment of your balance you will receive your detailed holiday itinerary.

How much deposit will I have to pay?

The deposit for the weekend is £100.  This means as group leader you can us and secure the weekend for the whole group.  In some cases the deposit may be more (eg if event tickets are being bought) but we will let you know during the booking process if this is the case.

How can I pay you?

You can pay a deposit by credit or debit card over the phone, or you can pay by cheque or bank transfer.

We have an online payment facility so you or any member of your group will be able to make payments direct to us. This mean you will not have to collect the money from the group unless you want to.

When do I need to pay the balance?

Your balance is due 8 weeks before you go.  The group can pay us anytime up until that date.

How do I know you keep my money and my friends money is safe?

Here at The Great British Stag we’re bonded by International Passenger Protection (IPP). Whenever you pay us you will receive an IPP insurance voucher and in the unlikely of event of our business failing before you travel on your weekend you will claim a full refund from IPP. This is not Travel Insurance and we advise all our customers to make sure you have travel insurance in place.

Should I buy Travel Insurance?

We strongly recommend that you but travel Insurance for your weekend. If you do have it or when you are buying it please also check that everything included in your weekend is covered, as not many policies will, as standard, provide cover for horse riding or “high risk” activities. Travel insurance can cover you for emergencies but it may also cover you for any cancellation fees paid to us should you have to cancel your weekend.

What happens if I want to cancel my booking or change it?

You can change the package at any after paying the deposit and before the balance has been paid.  You’ll need to call or email your personal organiser and they will update the booking for you. At our discretion, we may be able to make changes after the final balance is paid although we reserve the right to charge a £25 admin fee for any change. If you decide to cancel your booking, for whatever reason, it will be subject to our standard cancellation charges, which can be found in our Terms and Conditions section of the website.

Will you give us the hotel names in advance?

Yes, of course we will. We’ll actually give you a choice depending on where you go and what you’ll do.

Will we get in everywhere as we’re a stag group?

Being a stag group can be an issue in certain venues but we’ll be able to advice on the best places to go.  We always suggest you think carefully about the fancy dress options as ‘high end’ venues won’t accept fancy dress.  We also remind all our customers that venues reserve the right to refuse entry to any group.  So behave!

Can I contact you over a weekend if there are problems?

Yes, you can phone us and leave a message and one of the team will get back to you as soon as possible.  We always advice contacting the suppliers in the first instance to see if you can resolve the issue.
